Team & Board of Directors

The work of the Chamber is carried out by a small professional staff and directed by a volunteer Board of Directors drawn from across the Overton County business community. Our board members are not honorary appointees. They set the strategic direction of the organization, they approve the budget, they serve on working committees, and they give their time because they have a stake in whether this county thrives.

If you have a question about membership, an event, a project, a site, a grant, or how the Chamber might be able to help your business, the people on this page are the ones to call.

Chamber Staff

Because the Chamber operates four distinct functions from one office, our staff carry portfolios rather than narrow job descriptions, and any one of us can generally get you to the right answer or the right person.

Board of Directors

The Chamber is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the membership, with directors serving staggered terms so that the board carries forward institutional knowledge while regularly bringing in new perspective. The board reflects the breadth of the local economy and includes representation from manufacturing, healthcare, banking and finance, retail and hospitality, agriculture, education, professional services, and small business.

Ex-Officio Members

The Overton County Executive and the Mayor of Livingston serve as non-voting ex-officio members of the Board of Directors, which keeps the Chamber's work closely coordinated with the public partners who share responsibility for economic development in this county.

Related Boards

Because the Chamber operates four functions, several of them involve governing or advisory bodies separate from the Chamber Board of Directors.

Chamber Board of Directors

The Chamber Board of Directors governs the Chamber itself, including membership, programming, staff, budget, and advocacy positions.

How the Board Works

The Board of Directors meets quarterly and is supported by an Executive Committee that handles time-sensitive matters between full board meetings and by standing committees that carry the working load of the organization. Our standing committees include:

  • Item One
  • Item Two
  • Item Three
  • Item Four
  • Item Five
  • Item Six

Serving on the Board

Directors are nominated by the Nominating Committee and elected by the membership. Nominees must represent a Chamber member business or organization in good standing and must be prepared to commit to regular meeting attendance, active committee service, and participation in Chamber events and advocacy efforts. The Chamber actively seeks board candidates who broaden the range of industries, geography, and experience represented around the table, because a board that looks like the whole county makes better decisions for the whole county.
